The Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square successfully organized the Parenting Education Facilitator Training Program on December 2nd and 3rd, 2024, at Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital (Prashuti Griha). This program aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare providers working in antenatal and postnatal care. Ten dedicated nursing staff from the hospital participated, making this initiative a significant step toward introducing holistic parenting education into Nepal’s government health system to support families across the country.
The training was guided by the invaluable expertise of Parenting Education Consultant Risohani Shrestha Pradhananga from UNICEF, National Parenting Education trainers Rtn. Indra Kumar Shrestha from RCPDS, and Yajana Subedi from Patan Mental Hospital. Their practical knowledge and evidence-based strategies helped equip the participants with essential skills to support expecting and new parents effectively.
This program reflects the Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square’s dedication to building meaningful community partnerships and improving public health. We hope this collaboration will inspire more innovative programs in the health sector, ensuring better care and education for mothers and families in the future.
