The Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square is pleased to share the successful rescue and repatriation of seven vulnerable children and women from Madhesh Province who had been taken to various locations in India under false promises and inducements. The rescued individuals included five boys, one girl, and one woman, who were formally handed over to their relatives at the Office of the Chief of Madhesh Province in Janakpur.
The club proudly recognizes the remarkable humanitarian contribution of H. Member Rtn. Kalpana Maharjan, who played an important role in the successful rescue and repatriation of seven vulnerable children and women from Madhesh Province who had been trafficked and exploited in India.
Serving as the Global Brand Ambassador of Kin India, Rtn. Kalpana Maharjan continuously supported and coordinated the rescue initiative alongside Kin India, the Indian Police, the Nepalese Embassy, Shubha Awasar Gram Nepal, Awar Sansar, Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square, and Rotary Club of Baneshwor.
The rescued individuals, including five boys, one girl, and one woman from Saptari, Dhanusha, Bara, and Rautahat districts, were found in situations involving begging, labor exploitation, and abduction. Through dedicated efforts and strong cross-border coordination, they were safely rescued from various locations in India and reunited with their families in Janakpur.
