On 14th December 2025, during the official visit of District Governor Rtn. Binod Koirala to the Self-Help Group for Cerebral Palsy (SGCP), the Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square carried out a meaningful service initiative by distributing portable toilet chairs to 8 children with Cerebral Palsy.
The beneficiaries came from economically disadvantaged families living in rented houses where toilets were inaccessible and not designed to accommodate children with disabilities. The lack of disabled-friendly sanitation facilities had created daily challenges for both the children and their caregivers.
Recognizing this urgent need, the club provided portable toilet chairs to support safer, more comfortable, and dignified daily living for the children. This small but impactful initiative will significantly improve their hygiene, mobility, and overall quality of life while reducing difficulties faced by their families.
The program was conducted in the presence of District Governor Rtn. Binod Koirala, whose visit further encouraged and highlighted the importance of inclusive humanitarian service projects within the community.
The Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square remains committed to supporting children with disabilities through practical and compassionate initiatives that promote dignity, health, accessibility, and inclusion. The club believes that every child deserves the opportunity to live with comfort, care, and respect, regardless of their physical challenges or economic background.
This initiative stands as another example of Rotary’s spirit of “Service Above Self” and its continued dedication toward creating positive change in the lives of vulnerable communities.
