On 4th April 2026, the Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square successfully conducted a one-day Pediasure distribution program at the Self-Help Group for Cerebral Palsy (SGCP), focusing on improving nutrition and overall health outcomes of children with Cerebral Palsy.

The initiative falls under the club’s service focus on Maternal and Child Health, with special emphasis on nutrition support and disease prevention for children with Cerebral Palsy who are often at higher risk of malnutrition and feeding-related complications.

A total of 10 children with Cerebral Palsy benefited from the program. Along with the distribution of Pediasure as a nutritional supplement, BMI assessments were conducted to evaluate the nutritional status of the children. Caregivers were also provided with education and counseling on balanced diet planning, proper feeding techniques, and strategies to reduce feeding-related difficulties, thereby promoting better long-term health outcomes.

The program was led by Rtn. Dr. Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari and Rtn. Dr. Basudha Ghimire, whose professional guidance ensured proper assessment, counseling, and effective implementation of the initiative.

This intervention contributed significantly to improving nutritional support for children with Cerebral Palsy, enhancing their growth, immunity, and overall well-being. It also empowered caregivers with essential knowledge to better manage daily feeding practices at home.

The Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square remains committed to continuing such impactful initiatives that promote maternal and child health and improve the quality of life of children with special needs.
