The Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square held its Charter Night and Installation Ceremony on June 25th, 2024, at the prestigious Hotel Shangrila Blu in Bhakhundol. The event marked a significant milestone for the club, celebrating the achievements of the past year and ushering in new leadership.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, PDG Rtn. Dilendra Raj Shrestha, alongside other distinguished guests including AG 2023-24 Rtn. Rajani Shrestha, AG 2024-25 Rtn. Gupta Br. Rana, DGND Rtn. Vishnu B. Karkee, and DRFC Rtn. Kumud Tripathy. Their presence and support added immense value to the occasion.
Outgoing President Rtn. Keshab Maharjan delivered a heartfelt address, presenting a summary of the year’s activities and recognizing club members for their outstanding contributions. Awards were given to notable members and Rtn. Dr. Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari was awarded as the “Rotarian of the Year” award.
The highlight of the evening was the installation of the incoming President, Rtn. Rombus Kumar Shrestha. Introduced by PP Rtn. Niroj B. Mathema, President Shrestha received the President’s Collar, Club Charter Certificate, Gavel, and Gong from Chief Guest PDG Rtn. Dilendra Raj Shrestha. In his acceptance speech, President Shrestha outlined his vision for the upcoming year and introduced the incoming officers.
The event also saw the release of the “Layeku” Souvenir of RY 2023-24, a compilation of the club’s accomplishments and memorable moments. The total presence of 50-plus attendees, including club members, guests, and dignitaries, underscored the event’s significance and success.
Following the formal ceremony, a cake-cutting celebration and a fellowship dinner cocktail program allowed members and guests to mingle and celebrate Charter Night in high spirits.
