On 26th January 2025, the Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square distributed 15 portable toilet chairs to children with cerebral palsy at the Self Help Group for Cerebral Palsy in Dhapakhel. The donation was part of a special initiative to support children from low-income families who are living in rented accommodations without access to disabled-friendly toilets.
District Governor (DG) Rajendra Man Sherchan, during his official visit, personally handed over the portable toilet chairs to the children, ensuring they received the necessary support for improved daily living conditions. These children, selected by RC Patan Durbar Square for their economic challenges, will now benefit from enhanced independence and dignity in their personal care routines.
This thoughtful gesture reflects the Rotary Club Patan Durbar Square’s commitment to improving the lives of individuals in need and making a meaningful difference in the community.
The donation of portable toilet chairs to children with cerebral palsy is truly a kind of “magic” in itself. It’s a simple yet powerful act that can transform their daily lives by giving them more independence, comfort, and dignity. For children who often face significant challenges, something as basic as a disability-friendly toilet can make a world of difference, and it’s heartwarming to see the Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square making that magic happen.
The Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square continues to demonstrate its commitment to social service and humanitarian efforts, embodying the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
