Continuing the project ‘Sewa ma Samarpit’, the Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square, in collaboration with the Cerebral Palsy Clinic and Care Center, Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid Town, and Karunamaya Foundation, conducted its third phase, a two-day Free Health Camp at Laxmipur Health Post. Held on January 20th and 21st, 2024, the event was organized by Haripur Nagarpalika and co-organized by Karmacharya Arcade.
Led by Rtn. Dr. Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari, the camp aimed to provide quality treatment to children with cerebral palsy and related neurological disorders. The multidisciplinary team included Rtn. Dr. Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari, Physiotherapist Anuja Karki, and EEG Technician Abha Dhungana from the Cerebral Palsy Clinic and Care Center (CP Clinic Nepal).
Mayor Mr. Gopal Paniyar, Deputy Mayor Ms. Nikam Raya Yadav, and Ward Chair-Person Mr. Prem Hari Shrestha from Haripur Nagarpalika extended a warm welcome to the event. A total of 124 children benefited from pediatric consultation, with 50% suffering from neurological disorders and the remaining 50% dealing with various health issues.
During the camp, Rtn. Dr. Pragya Karmacharya Rajbhandari provided awareness about cerebral palsy to social workers and the local community. The event concluded with a meaningful meeting involving key figures from Haripur Nagarpalika and Ward No. 6, discussing future collaborations. Plans were explored to establish a one-day care center in Haripur Nagarpalika to enhance the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy and their caregivers. Both the Cerebral Palsy Clinic and Care Center and Haripur Nagarpalika expressed eagerness to collaborate further in serving the needs of children with cerebral palsy.
