Support to Rajkuleshwor Lower Secondary School, Dolakha:

Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square, in partnership with Help Nepal Network, has supported to rebuild Rajkuleshwor Lower Secondary School of Bhimseshwor -2, Dolakha, which was badly destroyed during Earthquake of 2015.  The school is built with a seismic resistant infrastructure combined with traditional architecture.  The school caters to a disadvantaged and marginalized community and majority of the students come from this background.

Under this partnership, Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square and Help Nepal jointly supported construction of 6 classrooms of the school building at a project cost of Rs. 60 Lakhs –  50% from Rotary and another 50% from Help Nepal.  Rotary District 3292 supported for this project under ERRRP programme.  The total budget for the whole school building and complex is estimated to be about Rs 4 crores which Help Nepal  is mobilizing through its network.

The Project is carried out in close collaboration with Department of Education, Social Welfare Council, District Education Office and District Development Committee. The school design is approved by the National Reconstruction Authority and the Department of Education.

As a local partner, Rajhiti Youth Club is responsible to oversee the construction process, while Help Nepal and Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square made regular monitoring visits to the construction site. Two-third of the total project work is completed. The on-going construction work is affected by the recent lockdown due to corona pandemic.
